A VETERINARY surgeon who specialises in euthanising pets in the Wellington and Mid Devon areas has won two top honours.

Paws in Peace received two honours in the BestUKVets Awards 2023, one for best South West mobile veterinary service, and another as best in Devon.

Kate Fairclough, who runs the business from home, was presented with the awards at a gala ceremony in London in front of an audience of more than 150 veterinary professionals.

Paws in Peace scooped the accolades after having gathered outstanding feedback from pet owner clients.

The BestUKVets Awards celebrate vets who delight their clients and are presented to practices across the UK with the most four or five star online reviews in each category.

More than 15,500 reviews left by pet owners on vet practice websites throughout the year were analysed in order to select the winners.

Paws in Peace is a bespoke at home pet euthanasia service covering Wellington, Uffculme, Willand, and surrounding villages.

The awards reflected Ms Fairclough’s dedication to customer service and outstanding care, with Paws in Peace receiving all five star reviews.

Ms Fairclough said: “I am proud and humbled to receive these awards.

“I would like to thank everybody, who in spite of needing us at such a sad time, has taken the time to leave such heartfelt reviews.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be able to help pets and their owners at such a difficult time.
