A NUMBER of road closures are expected to take place in and around Wellington in the next two weeks.

Wellington’s High Street will be closed from 6am until 6pm on Saturday, April 19 for the Wellington Independent Market.

Only emergency services, Royal Mail, and residents of White Hart Lane will be able to access the road as normal.

Drivers are advised to take a route which follows the B3187 along North Street, Victoria Street and Longforth Road.

From Tuesday, April 22, until Thursday, April 24, Wellington’s South Street will be partially closed due to maintenance works.

The closure, which will be in force for 24 hours per day, will allow Wessex Water to carry out investigation trial hole works for sewer systems.

The works will take place from the junction with Wellesley Park, south-eastwards for a total of 121 metres. Footways will remain accessible.

From 9pm on Friday, April 25, until 6am on Saturday, April 26, the M5 southbound will be closed between Wellington junction 26 and Cullompton junction 27 for resurfacing works. Drivers will be diverted via the A38.
