A new housing development in a village on the Backdowns is inviting house buyers to 'try before they buy.'
The 40 home Oak Mount development in Hemyock is opening to the public over the weekend where customers will can enjoy an 'exclusive look' at the properties.
The event is being hosted by Cavanna Homes, who built the development, and will take place on Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17.
Cavanna Homes’ Sales and Marketing Director Paul Furner said: “We want customers to be able to see for themselves what a special place Oak Mount is to live and are pleased to be able to offer them an exclusive look inside the available new homes.
“Oak Mount is a small community of only 40 homes and is a peaceful place to put down your roots.
“We’d encourage home seekers to book an appointment as we expect this to be a popular and well attended event.”
In October last year a ribbon cutting ceremony took place for the opening of the developer's latest show home at the site.
Welcoming the news, Hemyock’s Parish Council Chairman, Cllr Paul Doble said at the time: “We are pleased to see this development is offering a good range of open market and affordable houses, and the Parish Council looks forward to receiving the three hectares of community land for new and existing residents of Hemyock to enjoy.”
Funds released from the development have been allocated by Mid Devon District Council to primary and secondary educational facilities and for school transport.
