Residents are being encouraged to enter Wellington and Rockwell Green's summer scarecrow competition.

The event, which is being run by the Town Council, will give entrants the chance to win a £25 voucher for a local business.

A winner will be selected from each council ward, who will each receive a voucher - and the 'champion of champions' decided by the Mayor and his deputy, will win double the amount.

Scarecrows should be displayed from Monday, August 21, with judging to take place over the Bank Holiday weekend. The entries will be judged on their construction, design and originality.
