Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have two road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that both of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am April 4 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 10pm January 24 to 6am January 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 exit slip road closure for electrical works, diversion via M5 northbound to junction 25 and return.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
