WELLINGTON Rugby Club has acquired the field at Beech Grove by the Athletic Ground.

In the club’s programme notes for Saturday’s home game against Bideford, club chairman John Dunbar said: “We are now waiting for the change in the land registry to be completed which should be within the next few weeks.

“I have to be repetitious and again outline the need to continue to raise funds in order to be in a position to deliver the project steps going forward. It is the iceberg allegory, much of the required expenditure is actually up front without many changes being readily recognisable.

“It is only later when changes and improvements become eminently more perceivable so, please continue with those donations and any fundraising ideas or sponsorship opportunities for this project, then please see Matt Colman (president).”
