PUPILS at Oake, Bradford & Nynehead Primary School supported Children in Need by taking part in their own version of BBC One’s The One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge.

Instead of cycling, the whole school ran, jogged, power-walked or strolled the same distance as the Rickshaw Challenge.

It meant each child covered a distance of one mile a day for five days to achieve 500 miles as a school.

Children completed four laps of the school field each day which they could run in one go, or split it over the day for younger pupils.

The challenge ended when the children went to school dressed to impress in as much spotty attire as they could muster.

The Rickshaw Challenge saw a team of six who have been supported by BBC Children in Need projects take on a 423-mile challenge from Calais to Salford over eight days cycling an average of 50 miles a day to reach their goal.
