The old Bathroom Village showroom in Wellington has been sold.

Bathroom Village had one boasted that their Blackbrook Business Park premises was the 'largest showroom & warehouse in the south west.'

However, the site closed its doors to the public last year, and has now been sold.

The site is to house 'new commercial units', according to sign from Galaxy estate agents.

The former showroom was seen on Monday looking run down, with its facia sign in a state of disrepair and store name barely legible.

Bathroom Village relocated their Wellington showroom to Taunton last year. The move came after the firm's former financial controller was imprisoned for stealing £1.1 million from the company.

Michael Kennedy Black was convicted of defrauding the company, whose money he used to buy, amongst other things, a snow machine and an umpire's chair. Mr Black was jailed for six years and nine months in a sentence handed down at Bristol Crown Court in April 2022.

The fraud resulted in the company going into administration - though it has since recovered and now has stores in Bristol, Exeter and Taunton.

The identity of the buyer is yet to be revealed.
