LOCAL MP Rebecca Pow has visited Kingsmead School ahead of the competition of £10 million building works.
Visiting the Wiveliscombe school on Friday, January 12, Mrs Pow toured a new section of the school which was completed over the Christmas holidays.
With temporary units now removed the school was made ready for student's return in the new year.
The renovations include a new teaching and admin building with old buildings replaced with a grassy play area.
Head Teacher John Eddy said: “We were pleased to welcome Rebecca Pow, she was keen to see how the new building is operating as well as spending time meeting our Year 11 senior students to discuss their experiences and what their plans are for the next steps of their education.
“We would like to take the opportunity to once again thank the local community, as well as our students and parents, for their patience and understanding over the last few years and we look forward to seeing our students make the most of this wonderful new facility for many years to come."
