Responding to the news that Kwasi Kwarteng has been sacked as Chancellor, Liberal Democrat MP for Tiverton & Honiton Richard Foord said: “The Conservatives’ reckless mismanagement of our economy didn’t suddenly start with Kwarteng, but it must now end with him.

“People are angry, fed up, and worried about the future. Most of all they are furious that Conservative MPs seem to think this is an acceptable way to govern our country in these difficult times.

“Enough is enough. It started with Boris Johnson failing our country, and now Liz Truss is breaking our economy. 

“The only way to resolve this mess once and for all is to have a General Election - so that people can kick these failing Conservatives out of power.”
