A DATE has been set for the start of a trial of a man accused of murdering another man in Wellington in February.
Nicholas Adam Stutt, aged 33, of Laburnum Street, Taunton, is accused of stabbing to death Lewis Smith, aged 30.
Mr Smith, who also lived in Taunton, died at a house in Jurston Lane, Wellington, early on Tuesday, February 7.
Judge Peter Blair sitting in Bristol Crown Court held a pre-trial review of the case last Friday and instructed Stutt’s trial would begin on Monday, August 7.
Stutt has remained in custody since his arrest.
A post mortem revealed Mr Smith had suffered a single stab wound, and he died at the scene despite the efforts of police officers and paramedics to save him.
