The London Marathon takes place tomorrow (Sunday, October 3) and among the countless runners will be local man Ian Oliver – who has only just recovered from a football injury.
Ian, 52, who manages a poultry hatchery, is running to support the Farming Community Network which is concerned with supporting mental and emotional wellbeing.
“Farming has one of the highest percentages of suicide and depression. My mum suffered with her mental health terribly,” Ian said.
He has been building up to the 26-mile event in London by running half-marathons, training around four times a week: “I’m pretty apprehensive about it, though,” he added.
