WIVELISCOMBE’S 10 Radio has announced the launch of a new programme ‘Two Plus One’ with a trio of established female presenters.
The monthly radio show, hosted by Ani Brayley, Julie Elkins and Yolanda Bentham, is an opportunity for the three women, aged from 55 to 70 years old, to explore the vital things in life, including the benefits of talking to strangers, and whether dogs should wear clothes.
Recording is now underway for episodes of ‘Two Plus One’ which will be aired live on 10 Radio and published for anytime listening on Spotify.
Both Julie, from Norton Fitzwarren, and Ani, from Taunton, are veteran presenters for 10 Radio, and the third co-host, Yolanda has joined from Bridgwater’s Sedgemoor FM to make up the ‘Two Plus One’ team.
The show’s name is an indicator of the dynamic, leaving room for one of the presenters to be replaced by a guest presenter in times when one is unable to take part.
Ani Brayley, who can be distinguished by her Canadian accent, said: “Together we are a fiery, educated and good-natured trio of women of a ‘certain age.’ And, like so many women, we gelled quickly and we're not afraid to delve into all kinds of subjects.”
The idea to establish the new programme sprouted from Ani’s desire to try something different, having presented over 50 episodes of the show ‘Extraordinary People’, interviewing characters from around Somerset.
Ani said she knew Julie would be a wise and entertaining addition to the band, and she thought a third person would add a bit of “grist” to the show, who was ultimately the former psychology teacher, Yolanda.
Now the established trio have released the inaugural episode of their regular commentary radio and podcast programme which can listened to live every second Saturday of the month from 10.30-11.30am on 10 Radio, or on Spotify.
