ENVIRONMENTAL community group Transition Town Wellington has released the 2025 dates for their popular community gardening project.
Founded in 2008, Transition Town Wellington is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation taking steps to combat the ecological and climate emergencies.
The group is inviting locals to take part in a community gardening project for January 2025, with a number of jobs on offer.
At Fox’s Field, volunteers will be planting new trees and bushes, and replenishing the mulch around those already planted to ensure they get off to a good start in the spring. At Linden Meadow, there is the opportunity to join the January scything session to trim the weeds around the young trees, alongside a continuation of hedge laying to complete the stretch started last winter. And at Longacre, the group will work on trimming back the Winter brambles.
Activities will begin on Tuesday, January 7 at Fox’s field.
