THE first ‘Art for All’ exhibition held in Wellington Community Centre proved so successful that organiser Nina King now plans a repeat event in the late spring-early summer.
‘Art for All’ provided an opportunity to exhibit for a small group of local artists concerned the imminent closure of the Talent Gallery, in Fore Street, would leave them with nowhere in the town to show their work.
Ms King thanked everybody who visited the exhibition, many of whom made purchases.
She said: “It was exactly how I had pictured the event to be, the hall looked lovely and like a real gallery.
“I enjoyed seeing children drawing at the tables where people were seated having tea and cake. There was a lively buzz about the place and many people left happy with their newly-purchased art.
“Not only did the sun come out, but a rainbow appeared.
“All in all, I would definitely describe it as a success.”
Ms King is planning to organise another exhibition in May or June and asked for any professional artists who might be interested to contact her by emailing [email protected].
She is also considering running a children’s painting competition with entry forms available at the next exhibition.
