WELLINGTON Choral Society will be performing what has been described as Mendelssohn's most monumental oratorio, Elijah, at St John the Baptist Church at the end of this month.

Based on a Biblical story, this one from the Book of Kings, Elijah tells the tale of the prophet of the same name, his prediction of a coming drought, and the resulting trials and tribulations.

The choir will be performing this dramatic and moving oratorio with the musical director Laurence Blyth, Julian Rippon as baritone and David Davies on the organ.

Doors will open from 6.30pm to begin at 7pm on Saturday, March 29.

Tickets cost £16 and are free for under 18s and can be bought from members, on the door or online at www.wellingtonchoralsociety.org.uk
