A WORKSHOP for adults interested in learning how to make ‘beautiful’ fabric seascapes will be held this weekend.
Set to be hosted at Bodley Yard, in Ford Street, on Saturday, April 13, the event is aimed at beginners and those who want to turn their hand to embroidery.
Sam Riley, who runs Bodley Craft studio, said: “Create your own framed seascape picture using fabric, stitching and embellishment's in this creative workshop, suitable for complete beginners upwards.
“We will have some pictures for inspiration, but please feel free to bring your own to recreate a favourite place, using fabric and stitch for a beautiful keepsake.
“All materials are included for you to create and take home your framed artwork. You will need to bring a sewing machine, or share one of ours (£5 payable on day.
“Early booking advisable as spaces are limited. Children over 13 years are welcome if accompanied by a full paying adult, plus, a discount for two sharing a machine. Please contact me direct for details. [email protected].”
Ms Riley offers a number of art workshops, including a junior art group for those aged between nine and 13 years, ‘Wednesday watercolours’, needle felting and more.
She added: “The business has definitely evolved over the years and offers a range of Craft workshops and a huge range of art courses, workshops and classes as well as GCSE support, scholarship and portfolio prep.
“My goal is to inspire people - all those who would not consider themselves artistic, all those who didn't think they could produce art they would be happy with - and all those who do.
“Whether you are a life-long artist or complete beginner, a skilled craftsperson or complete novice. All you need is an open mind and a bit of enthusiasm. I look forward to welcoming you to the studio soon.”
