THE Wellington Arts Association has a singing spectacular in store this coming November to get your feet tapping and lips syncing.
The 28-person cast will debut their musical production ‘WOW That’s What We Call The Big Hits’ on Wednesday, November 6.
The dancing and singing spectacular is set to include classics from throughout the ages from Frankie Goes to Hollywood to the Black Eyed Peas and Ed Sheeran.
Carefully curated by director Shane Mace and production coordinator Jenny Owens, the show is a testament to the value of community arts and the capability of a committed intergenerational cast.
Jenny said: "WOW! is really not to be missed!
“I have had the pleasure of watching nearly all the rehearsals and see this show take shape and it still makes me smile!"
Renditions of the internationally adored hits by Celine Dion and Elvis Presley are to be expected, with an impeccable performance of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Christina Matravers and an uncanny Elvis with ‘It’s Now or Never’ by Nick "Tommy" Thompson.
The Breakfast at Tiffany’s classic ‘Moon River’ is another sensational performance to look forward to from Jeremy Secret.
Topped off with energetic choreography by Becky Mansfield and Mary Lewis, the show is an impressive celebration of the arts.
Director Shane Mace said: "I have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the cast.
“This is a really great show, and it has been a joy to direct it."
Choreographer Becky Mansfield said: "It has been so much fun working with the cast and creative team of this show.
“It is such a fun and exciting production with a huge range of talents, there is something for everyone!"
