MORE than £500 was raised for Wellington Hospital in a ‘Call my Bluff’ fundraiser hosted by a local charity.
The hospital’s League of Friends hosted the event which saw almost 90 people pack out of the town’s rugby club to play a twist on the classic panel show and help raise money for the hospital.
Attendees were tasked with identifying antiques after being given genuine and false descriptions of the items - with Exeter-based auctioneers Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood leading the event.
One attendee correctly identified all ten items ‘up for auction’ and won a bottle of sparkling wine for her efforts.
The event was a community affair, with Tim Potter’s family butchers supplying food and High Street shop The Nook and Cranny helping to sell tickets.
The money raised from the event is set to o to Wellington Community Hospital and the district nursing team.
