The family of Lloyd Manning, a young Wellington footballer who passed away before Christmas, has launched a charity fundraiser in his memory.
Lloyd played as a defender for the Wellington Reserves. His friends and family will come together at the playing field on Wednesday, March 22, as the Wellington side faces off against Chard Town.
Lloyd's family are now raising money for CALM, the Campaign against Living Miserably.
Wellington Reserves’ manager Nick Buttle said: “Lloyd was a hugely popular member of the team and the club as a whole.
“We were all devastated to hear of his passing – and he’s greatly missed by everyone. We are hoping there will be a big attendance next Wednesday to boost the coffers of this wonderful charity.”
Alongside the game there will be a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.
Prizes include vouchers from Bloomin’ Lovely florists, Spotless, The Cleve, Hair by Robyn, The Beambridge Inn and the Harvester restaurant.
There will also be bucket collections during the match, which is being sponsored by the Manning family. The match ball is sponsored by RI Leyman Plumbing and Heating.
Wednesday's game will kick-off at 7.30pm. Those unable to attend but who still wish to donate to CALM can do so here.
