RELYON shop floor workers are having their hours cut as business slows for the Wellington-based mattress company.

Shop floor workers are now working on “short-time” while office staff remain unaffected.

Managing Director, Alan Chapman, said: “Relyon continues to provide quality bed products with improved levels of service across a wide range of large Group and Independent customers throughout the country.

“Market demand has fallen sharply across all customers over the last few weeks and therefore it is regrettable that we have introduced short-time working for production staff.

“The support from our employees is gratefully appreciated in what is hoped to be a short-term measure until such time as normal demand resumes.”
