TWO Wellington fire engines were dispatched to tackle a vehicle fire on the outskirts of Wiveliscombe on Wednesday, December 11.
Wellington Fire Station sent an initial fire engine upon reports of a sliver Volvo was on fire on New Road at 12.55pm.
Shortly after arriving, the crew confirmed the vehicle was well alight and requested the support of a second fire engine.
Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said in an incident log: “Crew successfully extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus. Crews also used drain equipment to contain any fuel run off from the vehicle entering the water courses.”
Some damage to the road has been reported. The cause of the fire has been classed as accidental.
