A CARE home near Nynehead has hosted the town’s youngest members for an “intergenerational opportunity.”

Nynehead Court, a Grade-II listed care home, hosted the mothers and babies working with Growing Minds group for a Little Hands and Big Hearts’ session, which residents thoroughly enjoyed.

The sessions are the idea of local organisation, Growing Minds, which bring together babies, toddlers, and older adults in a nurturing and playful environment.

Joanne Fenn, manager of Nynehead Court, has described the event as “a unique intergenerational opportunity.”

She said: “Our residents love watching and spending time with children, so this session was a real treat for them.

“They enjoyed talking to the mums and hearing their stories, which reminded them of when they were bringing up their own families. This was the first of what we hope will be a regular event in our calendar.”
