FOLLOWING a disappointing cup exit last weekend on penalties Wellington Town Under 12s bounced back in style with a 10-1 home win against Staplegrove Youth in the Taunton & District Youth Football League.

From the first whistle Wellington Town dominated the game, with forwards Felix Emes and Charlie McAlpine both scoring a hat-trick. Travis Wong and Cass Letten added to the tally while Freddie Andrews and Ryleigh Priddle also found the back of the net.

Despite Staplegrove’s late consolation goal, Wellington Town maintained control and completed their biggest win of the season. The result takes Wellington Town to second in the table of Under 12s Division 2, one point behind leaders Watchet who visit Wellington next in a top of the table clash.

Wellington were by far the biggest scorers of the day in the division. In other games leaders Watchet Town were held to a 2-2 home draw by Bridgwater Wolves while Kingsdown Knights were 3-2 home winners over Huish Tigers.

The game between Ruishton Rockets, who are struggling at the foot of the table, and Galmington Dragons was postponed.

Eight teams are competing in the second divsion of the Under 12 League.
