WELLINGTON Reds maintained their fine start to the season with a 5-3 home win over Galmington Reserves in the first division of the Taunton Saturday Football League.
Reds quickly found themselves 2 nil up - thanks to a good solo effort from Jack Lewis and one from Aaron Hill - once again being asked to play out of position on the wing - following up after a Dave Darch header hit the crossbar.
Galmington's striker was a handful on the day and caused Reds’ defence a lot of issues and It wasn't long until the away side drew level. Keeper Tyler Fyfe was stranded on both occasions and had no chance with either effort.
Fyfe made some good saves which kept the game level. The Reds had some good chances but the Galmington keeper stood his ground well and made some good saves off of some one on ones.
The Reds had the upper hand for most of the first half and were disappointed to go in level at half term and came out fighting in the second half, quickly regaining the lead and eventually stretching it to 5-2. Galmington pulled a goal back and the game finished 5-3. Reds scorers were Jack Lewis x 2, Aaron Hill x 2 and Ben Evett.
