WELLINGTON are stepping up their search for new players following a winless start to the new football season.
The club's assistant player-manager Jack Porter said yesterday: "Obviously, we're keen to sign a striker - aren't all clubs? We have already spoken to players but, unfortunately, we don't have the kind of money that other clubs have.
"It is the same old story. Players lose interest when we talk money. That's why we have to look at players playing with teams below our level.
"I was pleased with the endeavor and attitude of the players in the draw against St Blazey. But we have to do this every week.
"We were the better side against St Blazey. On another day we would have won.
"At the moment we lack belief but this will come with more performances like last Saturday.'
Meanwhile Wellington are without a first team game this weekend and their next game is at home to Welton Rovers next Saturday (Sept 30).
Wellington Reserves' 100 per cent start to the season will be at stake when they play at home to East Budleigh in the first division of the Devon & Exeter League today (3p.m.).

Having just missed out on promotion last season, player-manager Mark Owen could not have wished for a better start.
