WELLINGTON have only three games to play in their bid to avoid relegation from the Bristol/Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League, two of them against top four sides.
They play away to fourth-placed Congresbury on Saturday, August 17, and have a crucial home game against fellow strugglers Ilminster (ninth) the following Saturday. They end their season with an away match against third-placed Golden Hill.
Wellington are lying third from bottom with 139 point from 15 matches while Ilminster are on 136 point and Taunton Deane on 121.
The basement battle has changed considerably in the past fortnight with the Deane winning their last two matches and putting themselves into a position where they could avoid the drop. They are still bottom but they are now only 18 points behind Wellington, both sides having three fixtures remaining.
However, the Deane have a tough run-in with matches against Golden Hill (home, third), Clevedon (away, fifth) and Keynsham (home, sixth).
Weston super.Mare are the other side still not clear of danger. They are fourth from bottom with 148 points and still have to play leaders Downend and second-placed Midsomer Norton.
Winning games earns 20 points but losing bonus points will be important for all four teams.
