WELLINGTON Croquet Club have been sending out lots of flyers promoting the club - and it is proving very successful.

Within the first week of such publicity the club have had two new players come along to take part in its Croquet Experience - they must have enjoyed themselves and the company because they now wish to join the club.

Their reason for coming along is because they are new to the area and wanted to meet local people and at the same time have some gentle exercise in a lovely surrounding.

On Tuesday the club had 14 members of the Quantock Walking Group come along to try their hand at croquet and despite the very wet weather they did manage to play for about an hour, before being provided with scones, jam and cream together with tea and coffee.
