HAVING lost in the opening round of two cup competitions this season, Wellington will be looking for a positive result in their home game against Odd Down (Bath) in the first round of the Somerset Premier Cup tomorrow evening (Wed, 7.45p.m.).
Wellington will also go into the tie with confidence, having beaten Welton Rovers 1-0 at home on Saturday to record their first win of the season. This ended a run of ten matches without a victory for Richard Cherry's outfit.
Wellington have called up local striker Josh Baker, who has dual registration with Willand Rovers, for tonight’s game. Wellington's assistant player-manager Jack Porter is available after missing the game against Welton but has not named himself in the squad.
Apart from losses against Falmouth and Nailsea and Tickenham, Wellington have been competitive in most of their games this season, but have lacked punch up front. They have been creating chances without an end product. They are hoping that Baker will change this.
