ON A sunny Saturday morning, Wellington Wanderers Under 10s made the trip to Lympstone for a highly anticipated football match. The weather conditions were perfect for a thrilling contest, and the football on display did not disappoint.
The trip was very worthwhile with the Wanderers coming away with a 2-1 success after a hard-fought game against good opponents.
The Wanderers showcased their penchant for slick, passing football, probing the Lympstone defence with intricate build-up play. However, it was the home side who struck first, taking a 1-0 lead against the run of play.
Undeterred, the Wanderers rallied and found their equalizer through Tom Kennen, who finished clinically to restore parity. The match remained evenly poised, with both teams eager to claim the victory.
As the game entered its final stages, it was Wellington's Rex Beatty who stepped up and scored the decisive goal, handing the Wanderers a hard-fought 2-1 triumph. Every member of the Wellington squad can take immense pride in their collective efforts, which resulted in a fantastic team performance.
The Wanderers would like to express their gratitude to kit sponsors Roadchef and jacket sponsors R&M Motors for their continued support.
