TWO of the top skittlers in the Wellington Ladies League made flying starts when the league got underway on Monday night.

Tina Coles knocked 54 for Land Girls who chalked up a 40-pin away victory over Geronimo while Jo Luckhurst hit 59 for former champions All Blacks who won by 65 pins at home to Wobbly Wheels.

Another skittler in good form on the opening night was Bev Marke (51) for Split Pins who won by 28 pins away to Water Babies.

Champions Jolly Blues were due to play away to L.O.A. Spare but the game was postponed.
