WELLINGTON gained a 4-1 away win over Huish Tigers in the Under 16 section of the Taunton & District Youth Football League.

Wellington were again able to field a strong match day squad which included cultured centre back Luciano Elsmore. Spencer Thomson, hot off the heels of a 'trainer of the week' performance, was asked to lead the forward line.

Wellington did not get off to the best of starts, when they conceded a scrappy goal from corner in the 4th minute. However, the away side did not let this faze them and, rather than retreat into their shells, they came out with some excellent football, against a well organised side.

Spencer Thomson levelled the score in the 14th minute - Ollie Ackland providing the assist. Wellington were the better side during the remainder of the half.

After the break, Wellington didn't start with their usual second half lull. Despite a few adjustments, they continued from where they left off by playing some skilful, attacking football. Brenly Povey returned to his excellent goal scoring form with a brace in the 47th and 62nd minutes. Thomson scored his second in the 67th minute and secured the MoTM award.
