SOMERSET had to settle for an 11 point rain affected draw from their Division One Championship match against Warwickshire which ended on Sunday.

This results sees the Cidermen stay in second place, 35 points adrift of leaders Surrey with four matches remaining.

After being put into bat the hosts had been reduced to 165 for six before a partnership of 122 between Michale Burgess who hit 64 and Jacob Bethel who made 69 and Warwickshire were eventually all out for 337 in 86.1 overs. Josh Davey took four for 80 and Craig Overton four for 87.

When Somerset replied they lost openers Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Andy Umeed without a run on the board and slipped to 65 for five before Kasey Aldridge added 87 with James Rew who made 49,

Aldridge batted through until he was last wicket to fall as Somerset were all out for 239, by which time the young all rounder had scored 84 off 139 balls with 10 fours and a six.

Batting for second time Warwickshire were all out for 270, Jack Leach taking five for 77.

Chasing 369 for victory Somerset were thwarted by bad light and rain and ended on 206 for four with James Rew not out.
