HEMYOCK Sharks were 1-0 home winners over Millwey Rise in the first round of the Devon & Exeter Under 12 Cup.

Squad numbers meant plenty of fresh faces in the starting lineup. However, this didn’t affect the continuity of the team's play. Time after time they forced the Millwey keeper into action only to be denied by an inspired performance.

Some neat combination play in the middle of the park resulted in the ball being played wide to Rohan Morris who slotted the ball neatly through to Jack Bright who put the home side ahead with a cool finish.

The second half followed much the same pattern with home keeper Felix Home rarely troubled. Player of the day went to captain Hadley Hillman.

The Sharks Development team took to the field straight after the cup game to take on Seaton who play in Division 4 of the Devon and Exeter League. The more experienced away team dominated possession, but the home side never looked out of place.

The Sharks return to league action this weekend when they welcome Starcross Dons to Longmead. With more Development games lined up, there is a real air of positivity at the club around this U12 side. Anybody interested in joining, contact Keith on 07787400965.
