WIVELISCOMBE Rugby Club have confirmed that ex-professional Nick Clark will be joining them as head coach.
The club’s director of rugby, Jake Sharland, met Clark last weekend to discuss his contract, which is ‘on-going.’
The 39-year-old Clark, who lives at Topsham, has played at the top level, including having two spells with Exeter Chiefs. He also played for Bristol, Bath and French club Oyonnax.
Sharland has paid tribute to previous coaches Peter and Brian Stone, who stood down at the end of last season.
“Without them we would not be in the position we are now,” said Sharland. “We’re very much a family club and we are now looking beyond this. It is the time to kick-on.”
Wiveliscombe, who are now seeking an assistant for Clark, will again be playing in Western Counties West.
