WELLINGTON suffered a disappointing 23-17 away loss to lowly Sherborne in Regional Two South West yesterday (Sat).

Strengthened by the return of several players from the previous weekend, Wellington led 17-16 at one stage in the second half as they tried to gain the season's double over their opponents.

But the Dorset outfit scored a late, converted try to win the game.

It means they drop to seventh in the table but still have a fine chance of finishing in the top five.

It was not a good day for local clubs with Wiveliscombe going down 39-26 away to Plymstock Albion Oaks who are below them in Counties One Western West.
