WELLINGTON’S players have chosen Paddy Jarman, pictured in action last season, who can play outside half or centre, as their new 1st XV captain.
He was elected at a players’ meeting which was held at the Athletic Ground before training last Wednesday.
He takes over from Dan Smyth-Moore, who will not be playing this season.
Jarman, who came up through the club’s youth ranks, studied at Exeter College and Exeter University and has a degree in sports science. A vice captain has still to be appointed.
The 2nd XV also have a new captain – Shane Jordan. However, Jordan damaged ankle ligaments in Saturday’s pre-season friendly at home to Sidmouth and could be sidelined for more than two months.
