WELLINGTON will be looking to bounce back after their unlucky one-point defeat at Crediton when they play at home to Falmouth in Western Counties West on Saturday (3.00).
Wellington were unbeaten at the Athletic Field last season and began the season with a 51-28 home victory over Chard.
They dominated the game at Crediton over the weekend and had the chance to win the game with a late conversion – but Alex Davey’s kick from wide out just dropped agonisingly wide.
Falmouth have won their opening two games and coach Allyn Chetland said: “It is going to be another hard game.
“But the lads can take heart from the way they played at Crediton. We’re certainly not down in the dumps. We simply didn’t have the rub of the green.”
Despite losing at Crediton Wellington go into the game sixth in the table, four points adrift of early leaders Sidmouth.
Wellington 2nd XV, whose home game against Bath Old Edwardians last weekend was called off because their opponents could not raise a side, are away to Keynsham 2nd XV in Somerset One.
Wiveliscombe, who have won their opening two matches, are home to Old Redcliffians 2nd XV while their seconds are away to their Chard counterparts.
