TOP of the table Wellington play their long-awaited away match against title rivals St Austell in Western Counties West this coming Saturday.
Wellington have a two-point lead over the Cornish side - and also have a crucial game in hand.
Victory over St Austell would make Wellington overwhelming favourites for the championship. Defeat would mean the title race is extended until much later in the season.
The two sides are some way ahead of the chasing bunch which is being led by Kingsbridge who are 13 points behind Wellington and have played one more match.
Wellington, who beat struggling Saltash 27-3 over the weekend, will be able to field a stronger side with both flanker Liam Phillips and prop/second row Josh Hancock available again.
In addition centre Vinnie Gordan has recovered from a facial injury and hooker Joe Dyke could be available although he has a toe injury.
“We won’t have to motivate the boys for this game,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland. “We know it will be a very physical game. The result could go a long way into deciding who is going to finish top. It will have a big impact on what happens for the rest of the season.”
Wellington will be chasing the season’s double over St Austell, having beaten them 28-24 at the Athletic Ground at the end of November.
