ROCKWELL Green Shortmat Bowls Club travelled to Staplegrove for a six-mat match - and came away with a big victory.

While temps were 25C the match started (Green names first) Cass, Graham & Brian met Peter, Keith & Steve and the Green trio won the last 4 ends for a 10-3 victory.

Next up Joy, Dave & Bob against Chris, Keith & Sue. The Staplegrove trio won all but one of the remaining ends to run out 10—5 winners ​

Mick, Bill & Mike played Sue L, Pat & Heather and triumphed 13-3.

Back in action after the break Mick, Bill & Mike pitted against John L, Keith & Sue M. The Green were dominant and came away with a 12-3 victory.​ Joy, Dave & Bob came up against Christine, Peter W & Steve. In a close game, the home side leading 7-- 5 with one to play, the Green managed a 2 ​on the last to gain a draw.

Last up Cass, Graham & Brian against Sue L, Pat & Heather. In another one sided game the Green were in complete control came away with a 12-6 victory.

The final score was 59-28 in the Green's favour, despite the heat

Meanwhile, the Green club have been saddened to hear of the passing of David Graham after a long fight against illness .
