ROADWATER play at home to Winsford in the second division of the West Somerset Cricket League this coming weekend.
It is the only match being played in the league which does not fully get underway until the following Saturday.
Ashbrittle, who were the outstanding side of the second division last season and won the title without losing game, begin life in the top division with a home match against Bridgetown on Saturday, May 4 (2p.m.).
East Huntspill, who were also promoted along with Ashbrittle, open the new season with an away match against Morebath.
After winning the Division One championship last summer without a single loss, Kilve begin the defence of their title with a home fixture against Over Stowey while Brompton Ralph are home to Bagborough.
The league will again consist of four divisions, with all teams in action at the beginning of May.
One of the problems for many clubs has been the preparation of wickets for the new season. Rain throughout this month has made it difficult for groundsmen to work on pitches, and some matches may have to be cancelled. Not an ideal start for the league!
