WELLINGTON A went down to their fourth defeat of the season when they lost 4-1 away to reigning champions Redgate in the Premier Division of the West Country Drainage Services Taunton & District Saturday Football League.

It came only a few days after Wellington A had beaten the same opposition 6-2 in the League KO Cup on the 3G pitch at the Bridgwater College Academy. Wellington's only goal was netted by Jayden Nicholson-Hawkings. Player-manager Warren Toff missed the game.

Defeat leaves Wellington second from bottom in the division with only Minehead Reserves, who have yet to win a game, below them.

Taunton side Galmington are the current leaders of the Premier Division, having won five of their six matches.

They have a six-point lead over second-placed Porlock who are 100 per cent after a splendid start to the season and have three matches in hand on Galmington.

Staplegrove Reserves are lying third, having lost only one of their opening five fixtures.

Wellington A, who won the first division title last season, are without a match until they play Bridgwater Wolves in the Rowbarton Charity Cup at Court Fields on Friday, October 18 (8p.m.).
