WELLINGTON 2nd XI lost only two games in winning the third division title in the Somerset Cricket League - and will be promoted to Division Two next season along with runners-up Middlezoy.
Wellington finished 24 points ahead of Middlezoy, the two sides dominating the division and ending well clear of Minehead 2nd XI who were third but will miss out on promotion.
Wellington won 15 of their 18 matches - one was cancelled because of bad weather - and ended the season in style with a 101-run victory over South Petherton at the Playing Field.
Wellington piled up 272-5 in their 40 overs with opener Neil Hendy hitting 87 not out, knocking 13 fours and one six. Others who made runs included Akio Latifi 42, Alex Sparks 31 not out, Paul Short 32, Alex Derbidge 25 and Charlie Burrough 24. Henry Clayton took 2-55.
Petherton were always on the back foot when batting, and were bowled out for 171 with veteran all-rounder Rob Moysey taking 6-28 in his eight-over spell.
At the other end of the table, Taunton Deane 3rd XI finished bottom and will be relegated along with North Perrott 2nd XI.
