MOWERS have been crowned champions of Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Chris Bullock Championship after a fine 31 pin victory over King Pins at the Victoria Arms, with Darren Winter hitting the top score of 61. King Pins buoyed by the return of captain Les Marke, who hit 54 in his first match for quite some time. Mowers now look to the championship play-off final on Friday, May 17. Marc Bright reports: Scuppas ended the runners up after they recorded a 43 pin win away to Outsiders at the Conservative Club. G. Larcombe hit 51 for Outsiders while D. Squire knocked 58 for Scuppas who will be hoping to take their good form into the Ken Bright Cup.

Here 4 the Beer 327, WRFC 318: Here 4 the Beer closed out their best season in their history by beating Rugby Club to finish joint fourth with the Rugby boys. B. Price hit a good 50 for H4tB on the tricky Institute alley. D. Huggett scored 44 for the Rugby Club.

Moonrakers 309, Home Guard IV 273: Home Guard IV went down by 36 pins against Moonrakers at the Football Club to see them finish bottom of the division and book themselves into the Wooden Spoon Playoff. L. Skinner hit 48 for the Rakers while W. Smith was the main man for HGIV. wih 47.

Odds and Ends 346, Foresters 375: Foresters closed out their season with a 29 pin win away to Odds and Ends at the Victoria Arms with S. Wadham hitting 56 for Foresters. G. Downscored 48 for Odds and Ends, who needed Home Guard IV to lose in order to avoid bottom place.  

United Services 382, All Stars 386: All Stars came out on top of a close game at the re-opened White Horse, beating United Services by four pins. G. Smith scored 59 for United Services while. J. Milton knocked 56 in the All Stars reply. 

Gerald Thorne Championship – OBA 361, Holywell Lake 367: Holywell Lake came out on top in the upstairs/downstairs derby at the Victoria Arms. A. Kemp hit 52 for OBA and R. Skeels was the player of the match with 53 as he helped the defending champions over the line..

Club Rockers 337, Reservists 353: N Sparks scored 58 for Reservists and C. Hyland knocked 45 for the Rockers but the home side found it tough going on the tricky alley.

Hot Shots 344, Home Guard II 369: Home Guard II ended their losing slump with a 25 pin win away to Hot Shots at the Conservative Club. R. Chivers scored 49 for Hot Shots. while HGII skipper P. Williams, was the main man for his side with 54.

Cottage Pies 372, Queens Legs 347: Cottage Pies won by 25 as they hosted Queens Legs at the Cottage Inn, Pies skipper L. Ellis knocked 51 and M. Whatkins scored 51 for Queens Legs.

Fireguard A 251, Relyon 288: Relyon came out on top of a low scoring game at the Football Club, winning by 37 against Fireguard A. Mike D hit 40 for Fireguard A and D. Perry scored 47 for the Bedders..

Oaks 399, Rebels 345: Oaks went big as they saw off the challenge of Rebels at the Blue Ball, with S. Burge (67) the pick of the players with 67 for Oaks. Rebels skipper D. Steer hit 48 in reply.

Shooters 385, Bell Green 366: Bell Green were shot down in the upstairs/downstairs Victoria Arms derby as Shooters won by 19. K. Harcombe scored 63 for Shooters and M. Johnson scored 56 in the Greeners.
