WELLINGTON side Moortown, playing their first game at their new home at Court Fields School, drew 1-1 with fancied Black Swan in the first division of the Somerset Sunday League.
The visitors made the early running forcing Moortown keeper Dan Clapp into two fine saves. Moortown gradually came back into the game and created a great chance for Wes Poulsom that tested the keeper.
Tom Davies was then given a yellow card following a late tackle. The resulting free kick was comfortably saved by Daniel Clapp.
After 44 minutes following a challenge from Davies Black Swan were awarded a penalty. This was driven into the bottom right hand corner to take the teams into halftime with the visitors holding a 1-0 lead.
Moortown started the second half strongly putting sustained pressure on Black Swan. After ten minutes a controversial decision after Davies challenged 24 yards out resulted in a second yellow card for Davis bringing Moortown down to ten men.
This seemed to inspire the home side who five minutes later equalised through Rohan Poulsom.
With ten minutes left Moortown were awarded a penalty, only to see Luke Perry’s spot kick saved by the keeper.
