UNBEATEN Hemyock U12s travelled to Rockbeare Rockets for an early kick off in Division Three of the Devon and Exeter league.

Led by captain Will Bolger, Hemyock took the lead early on. Following some neat play, Hadley Hillman made a dazzling run down the wing and whipped in a cross that the Rockbeare defender could do nothing about but knock it into their own net.

Hemyock wasted further opportunities but in truth, Sharks looked jaded. Rockbeare equalised on the 26th minute following some dynamic wing play. They doubled their lead quickly as the Sharks failed to clear their lines. A similar issue resulted in a third for the home team.

An improved start to the second half again saw chances fall to Hemyock. However, it was Rockbeare who added a 4th early on to take the wind out of any comeback. Effort levels remained high but, without some influential players, Hemyock’s usual passing and controlled possession evaded them, and Rockbeare added two further goals..

Players of the match were Zach Lyus for is combative display in central midfield and Hadley Hillman for his attacking wing play.

Hemyock play their first league game at home Saturday 28th against Stoke Hill. Anybody Interested in joining the team should contact Keith on 07787400965.
