WELLINGTON U10s kicked off their season in style, playing their first matches on the brand new 3G astro turf at Court Fields School. They faced off against familiar foes Bishops Lydeard, both teams having reached the finals day of the cup last season.

The Wellington lads started a bit slow, but it was not long before they found their rhythm and got their passing game going. The immaculate surface seemed to really play to Wellington's advantage, allowing them to showcase their slick ball movement.

When the final whistle had blown, Wellington had emerged victorious in all 4 games, racking up an impressive 24 goals while only conceding 3. The team showcased some brilliant football at times.

The goal scorers on the day were a real who's who of Wellington's young talent. Jack Jorge led the way with 6 goals, closely followed by Louis Molloy with 5. Bertie Lowrey chipped in with 4, while Harrison Thompson, Riley Lloyd, and Rex Beatty all got in on the action with 3, 2, and 2 goals respectively. A special mention must go to Rowan Gibbons, who etched his name in the history books by scoring the very first goal on the new 3G pitch.
