HEMYOCK U12s welcomed Stoke Hill to Longmead in the Devon and Exeter League Division 3.
The visitors started brightly and appeared to catch Hemyock on the back foot. Despite Stoke Hills’ early possession it was the attacking threat of Hemyock which brought about the first goal. Hadley Hillman cut the ball back to Jack Bright who calmly slotted home his 3rd goal in 3 games on 24 mins. Hemyock had further chances to extend their lead but it remained 1-0 at half time.
The Sharks were much more dominant in the second half although it was the visitors who nearly struck back with a powerful shot coming back off the post on 50 mins. That seemed to focus the minds of the Hemyock players who quickly established a two-goal lead. Neat passing from front to back through centerback, Archie Cotrell and Jamie Knott saw James Barbary-Spa coolly slot home at the far post to make it 2-0.
The Sharks always looked comfortable and secured all three points with some intricate passing down the left wing between Bright and captain and Player of the Day Zach Lyus who scored from 18 yards with a shot which rocketed into the top corner for his 63rd goal in 92 appearances and a 3-0 win.
