A DAY of Bank Holiday fun and action awaits racegoers at Smeatharpe Stadium on Monday afternoon when the pit area will be packed full of competitors; a colourful cornucopia of sights and sounds.

The event will begin with a Grand Parade at 12.45pm, ahead of the first race at 1.00pm.  Smeatharpe is a small circuit.  It is ready-made for action, and the race fans are close up to the sights and the sounds which make for quite a spectacle.

The venue is surrounded by grass banking and seating from where all points of the 300 metre oval racing circuit can be viewed.  There is a small amount of covered area.

There will be more than  a dozen races during the day, and the whole meeting will last in the region of four hours, offering a tremendous day’s family entertainment.  Hot and cold refreshments will be available, plus a licensed bar.

There will be Formula Two stock cars, saloon stock cars bangers, stock rods and the climax of the meeting will be a caravan chaos event, which will involve dilapidated caravans towed by cars.  Once the action unfolds, as many as half a dozen caravans will be smashed to smithereens in an orgy of destruction and devastation.
