AFTER observing a minute’s silence for Remembrance, Wellington Utd U12s scord a late equaliser to secure a hard fought 3-3 draw against Rhode Lane Wanderers.

Going 1-0 down in the first 5 mins fired the lads up to start playing some really good football. Good link-up play between the boys up front resulted in some good chances being created but were unable to finish, until a screamer up the pitch from centre back Oscar Boucher found Leo Upham who slippred around a defender to hit home the first equaliser.

The second half started slowly for Wellington with their defenders really being tested. Wellington went down 2-1 in the first 3rd of the second half, which led to some tactical changes by Wellington in a bid to change the game.

Wellington started to create some chances and an assist from Leo Upham saw Blake Mead score yet another equaliser. Shortly after Wellington went down another goal with minutes to spare. Wellington kept pushing forward looking for the goal; then with three mins left Blake Mead found the back of the net, again assisted by Harry Newstead. Wellington kept fighting and pushing forward only for the game to end 3-3.

Man of the match: Blake Mead; Player of the match: Leo Upham.
